Emergency view
The screen that works when nothing else does.
One tap from anywhere in the app. Black ground, white text, no menus, no loading. It lists the things you marked to reach for and the place each one lives, in type you can read at arm’s length in the dark.
Works with no connection.
Works with no subscription.
Works before your email is verified.

How it fills
You choose what appears
Open an item and turn on In the emergency view. That item, its photo and its place join the black screen, and the order is yours to set. A torch and a radio in the hall cupboard are worth having at the top. A cash tin in the loft probably is not.
Until you mark something, the screen says so plainly: nothing is marked to grab first yet. Open an item and turn on In the emergency view.
The screen torch

One button fills the display with white at full brightness. It is not a camera flash, so it does not drain the battery as fast, and it stays on until you tap again. Enough to find the cupboard, read a label, or walk down a dark hallway.
Why black
Black keeps the screen readable when your eyes have adjusted to the dark, and it uses less power on an OLED phone. It also makes the surface unmistakable. If the screen is black, you are in the view that does not need anything else to work.
Why it is never gated
Adding and editing need a subscription. Reading what you have already recorded does not, and Emergency view never does. A lapsed subscription, a dead signal or an unverified email address cannot take this screen away from you.
What it is not
It is not an alert feed, and it does not tell you what is happening outside. For that, keep a battery or wind-up radio on the checklist and follow official advice. This screen answers one question: where are my things.
Mark four things and the screen is ready.
Join the beta and set it up this week. It takes about ten minutes for most households.
