How KITHELD works
KITHELD gives you a checklist based on UK Government preparedness guidance, and a place to record what you already have.
A checklist for your household
There are 28 needs in eleven groups, from drinking water to spare keys, based on UK Government preparedness guidance. Tell it how many adults, children and pets live with you and it works out the amounts. For example, each person needs 9 litres of water.
Each need shows as covered, partly covered or missing, using a shape as well as a colour. Needs that don’t apply to you, like baby supplies if you don’t have a baby, aren’t counted.

Record what you already own
You probably have a lot of the list already. Take a photo, enter how many and where it’s kept, and KITHELD links it to the right need.

Name the places you keep things
Add places like the kitchen cupboard or the car boot. Each place lists what’s kept there, so anyone at home can find things.
Expiry reminders
Tins, batteries and medicine go out of date. KITHELD sends a notification on your phone before they do.

Home screen widgets
See your progress and what to do next without opening the app. The Emergency view widget opens it in one tap.
Free to download and use
Download it free and record your own household, with the full checklist and Emergency view. There’s nothing to buy in the app.
We'll email you when KITHELD is available. In the meantime, our guide to storing water might be useful.
